July 2, 2008
Seek out inspiration each and every day. Set realistic goals, and take the necessary steps to achieve the goals you have set for yourself. Surround yourself with people that motivate you to be better. Our mind is the biggest obstacle we face and it is also the most powerful weapon that we
What Is A Workout?
June 22, 2008
Looking for motivation for the week ahead?
What I’m going to share with you today is one of the most inspiring pieces of fitness related writing that I’ve ever read. It inspired me years ago when I read it for the first time, and it still lights the fire under my butt as I read it today. I hope it can do the same for you. Thanks go out to Certified Personal Trainer Brian Copeland for sharing this with me about 5-6 years ago (Brian is a great personal trainer located here in Honolulu–I give him 2 enthusiastic thumbs up!!).
What Is A Workout?
A WORKOUT is 25% PERSPIRATION and 75% DETERMINATION. Stated another way, it is ONE PART PHYSICAL EXERTION and THREE PARTS SELF-DISCIPLINE. Doing it is easy once you get started.
A WORKOUT makes you better today than you were yesterday. It STRENGTHENS THE BODY, RELAXES THE MIND, and TOUGHENS THE SPIRIT. When you WORKOUT REGULARLY, your problems diminish and your CONFIDENCE GROWS.

After going to the gym for the first day, or the first week, month, year, or years, you have in your mind an idea of what your standard is. The word standard is defined as “a degree or level of requirement, excellence, or attainment.”
Your standard basically becomes the minimum amount of effort that you’re willing to put forth into your life and your workout each time you get out of bed and each time you enter the gym.
People who’ve earned their wealth and fortunes, and people that worked hard for their bodies have a lot in common.

Being a subscriber to a blog or an email list is a great way to learn from other people and/or to communicate ideas with those having similar interests, or goals. Here’s part of an email I received from a fellow fitness professional, Jim Labadie. “You’re never going to believe
