They say pictures speak a thousand words.

Here’s a look at a few of my past and present training clients. They range from (formerly) sedentary housewives, 70+ seniors that have never worked out before, and professional athletes looking to gain a competitive edge on the competition, prevent injury, and maximize career longevity.

I’ve been trying to put on muscle mass for a long time with very little success. I just wanted to say thanks for helping me finally reach my training goals. I put on 12 pounds in the first six weeks of lifting, thanks to your tips. Besides demonstrating the correct form and tempo, you gave overall well-rounded instruction-more specifically, your expertise in nutrition has helped me generate more muscle and get more results in a record amount of time for me. Finally, I did not realize that in the past I had over-trained. I have seen dramatically more success with your recommended schedule.

Thanks again,

Chris (last name withheld by request)

Dear 24 Hour Fitness,

I am writing this letter to give recognition to one of your employees–personal trainer
Chris Ranes. I have been a member of your Waikiki location for a few months now.
I love the great view and the gym in general. The personal training I have received from
Chris Ranes is very easily the most impressive part of my entire experience with your
company.

I never pictured myself hiring a trainer. I was going to just take my free session since you
offered it to me and then continue to work out on my own. Chris somehow convinced me
to sign up. We met 3 times the first week. I enjoyed training with him so much after that
first week that I decided to train with him 5 days a week for the next 9 weeks till I had to
go back to the mainland.

I am 37 and have been in and out of your gym for the better part of 20 years now. I
thought I knew everything there was to know about exercise. Chris has helped me with
my diet, proper foods, portion sizing for desired results, resistance training, mechanics of
body parts, stopping bad lifting habits, and supplements-customized for my goals.
I’m almost embarrassed to say this but, I’ve seen more results in two months of working
out with Chris than I’ve got in 20 years of doing it by myself. I can’t believe how much
time I was wasting!

I can’t say enough about the help, professional attitude and courtesy I have received from
CHRIS RANES. Chris consistently delivers far beyond what I pay for him. His
enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion for what he does in my eyes are top notch and say a
lot for your gym.

Enthusiastically Yours,

George Huffman

P.S. Thanks for everything Chris, it’s not often I find someone with the same energy level.

To whom it may concern,

Chris Ranes has been an amazing personal trainer for me from September 2005 to January 2006. He has helped me to reach my fitness goals in only four months and I have learned a lot about weight training and nutrition in the process – tools that I probably can use for the rest of my life. I now don’t have to waste time at the fitness center anymore and that is thanks to Chris.

I would recommend Chris Ranes to anyone who is seeking a friendly and commited personal trainer to help them reach their fitness goals and learn about training and nutrition. He is friendly, flexible in terms of when you want to train and, most importantly, he has a whole lot of knowledge about weight training and nutrition. Remember to ask questions if there is something you want to know about or something you are unsure of – Chris always had a good answer to my questions.

I am very grateful for the skills I have learned from Chris.

Sincerely,

I feel like a completely different person.

I never imagined I could look like this. I seriously didn’t even think it was possible. And I wouldn’t have believed you if you had told me. I have more energy and I feel so much sexier. Every part of my life is better. It seems like a lot but, it’s true.

I was nervous at first about starting exercise and the thought of someone watching me exercise seemed so weird. That nervous feeling went away in like the first 5 minutes. I don’t know why I was so scared. Once I started going, it wasn’t a big deal at all. Now I love to workout!

  1. To Have Fun Working Out
  2. Increase Functional Efficiency

I have had more trainers than I have fingers. I’ve had some trainers that yelled at me (Can you believe that!?) and some that were a pushover. Neither of those types of training work for me.

Chris is an absolute genius. He communicates effectively. He is patient and understanding. You can tell that he isn’t just another fake smile, but that he actually cares about you. I enjoy the functional training, and balance stuff we do together. Chris really stays on my butt about my eating habits. I highly recommend you work with Chris if you have the chance.

  2. Increase Energy

After:

Through out the last year I have personally gone through many stages of health and fitness. With little to no effort I have been in decent shape my whole life, mostly due to being involved in dance. Once I graduated college and stopped dancing competitively a year ago, my bad college eating habits finally started catching up to me. After a year of being fairly inactive and feeling unmotivated my weight rose and my heath declined not to mention my self image and confidence had fallen greatly. I couldn’t believe how unhealthy and not sexy I felt for being a 23 year old woman. I “looked” for six months at gyms and possible places to turn my habits around but kept finding excuses not to join or get started. I found myself believing “What’s the point? Am I even going to see results?”

After meeting Chris and discussing my personal goals, his knowledge and enthusiasm convinced me to sign up. I am one of those people that needed the assistance of a qualified trainer like Chris to show me the correct and most effective exercises to achieve my personal goal. I have gained so much confidence in my ability to successfully work out that I feel I have established a life habit. I know that if I had simply joined a gym and tried to work out on my own, that I would have soon felt discouraged and would probably see little results. I truly believe that the most difficult part about working out is believing that what you are doing is correct and that with a bit of consistency you will see results.

With the right amount of push and a little bit of give, Chris guided me to a more successful eating habit as well as regular exercise. He regularly rotates the exercises to keep them interesting and challenging, and he never puts you in a position where you can not succeed. There were some challenging days in the beginning as I learned how to work out correctly and start my body on a healthy track. Now days, I look forward to the gym and enjoy feeling successful as I feel and look better. Others have commented on the changes they see, and I know that what I’m doing for myself is setting me up for life.

Thanks to Chris, I know I can look and feel exactly like I want to. It’s all up to me. Though it may seem tough in the beginning to get started and stick to it, whether it’s a few weeks or months down the road, just remember you’ll feel better and look better than you do right now. And who doesn’t want to look and feel better?!

Thanks Chris for everything!

To the owner and managers of Punahou Spa and Fitness:

I am writing to give a pat on the back to the most important aspect of your gym, trainer
Chris Ranes. Through out the last year I have personally gone through many stages of
health and fitness. With little to no effort I have been in decent shape my whole life,
mostly do to being involved in dance. Once I graduated college and stopped dancing
competitively a year ago, my bad college eating habits finally started catching up to me.
After a year of being fairly inactive and feeling unmotivated my weight rose and my
heath declined, not to mention my self image and confidence had fallen greatly. I
“looked” for six months at gyms and possible places to turn my habits around but kept
finding excuses not to join or get started.

I had caught wind that there were decent trainers available at Punahou Spa and Fitness,
and I fmally found my way in. After meeting Chris and discussing my personal goals, his
knowledge and enthusiasm convinced me to sign up.

I am one of those people that needed the assistance of a qualified trainer like Chris to
show me the correct and most effective exercises for my personal goal. I have gained so
much confidence in my ability to successfully work out that I feel I have established a life
habit. I know that if I had simply joined a gym and tried to work out on my own, that I
would soon feel discouraged and would probably see little to no results. I truly believe
that the most difficult part about working out is believing that what you are doing is
correct and that with a bit of consistency you will see results.

Trainers are crucial in assisting the moral and success of a gym. They are the motivators,
the supporters and provide safety out on the floor. I believe other members see people
with trainers; they observe the changes and have an easier time envisioning themselves in
that same successful position.

Having Chris and the Spa as my place for change has been unbelievable. I know that
what I have learned here, I will honestly use the rest of my life. I have done nothing but
brag about my experience with Chris, and everyone in my life has been witness to the
changes.

This is why I felt it was important to personally recognize Chris Ranes and the amazing
work he has done for all of his clients.

Thank you for your time.

Hi to all the mommies!

I had to share this cause this has been such an amazing experience for me. After the birth of my 2nd child I vowed to FINALLY get in to shape. It wasn’t until I saw the picture from his 1st birthday party that I realized I had to do something and that all this extra weight and inches had just snuck up on me. I am a SAHM and do almost nothing for myself and put the kids and all other responsibilities first. I finally did something for me and the payoff has been tremendous!! It hasn’t even been 3 months yet and I’ve lost about 10lbs but the bigger thing-I’ve lost many inches from my body. My body shape is actually changing and its so awesome to see results before my very eyes.

I had considered using a trainer at a 24hr fitness but I interviewed some other trainers first and I’m so glad to have found the one I did. His name is Chris Ranes and his website is www.myfitnesswithchris.com. Hes an amazing person and I’ve learned so much from him. Besides pushing me in the gym he helps me decide what foods to eat and how to eat them. Hes thinking of starting a bootcamp soon with group training and I told him that there are moms everywhere looking to get back in to shape. If this sounds like something that could work for you visit his website and let him know you’re interested. His site is full of information that can help you reach your goals.

Yes, I was afraid to start doing this but a few minutes in to it I realized that if you do what you’ve never done before, you will have what you’ve never had before. This guy has helped me so much. No BS or shortcuts here. He teaches you science and facts. Its the only way to go. If you’re serious and willing to work hard there is no one better to partner up with, at least that is my humble opinion.

Aloha and thanks for reading!
