First look: My brand new private fitness training studio in Honolulu, Hawaii!

Well, I finally did it–I’m very happy to announce to you that I have opened my very own private personal training and kettlebell studio right here in Honolulu, Hawaii.

I decided many months ago that it was time to get out of the gym environment and into a private training facility.

I just had to find one that was a good fit.

I looked at A LOT of personal training studio’s in and around Honolulu, Hawaii. It was a really interesting experience to say the least. I met some really nice, genuine people that I am proud to call my peers (also met some pilau people–personality, NOT body odor), and even reconnected with some old friends and colleagues, however; I just couldn’t find the match I was looking for.

Come to my training studio and you’ll probably see what I mean.

Some people might call the methods that we use unconventional. For us, it is just the way.

There’s no need for big, useless machines around here. This is a functional training studio. In addition to specializing in fat loss and body transformations, we teach people how to increase the quality of their movement, and to strengthen their body in ways that have far greater carry over to daily living, and athletic performance. Our assessments, techniques, methods, and training progressions will help you be more resistant to injury, look your best, feel your best, perform at  your full potential, and have a lot of fun while doing it.

We have a few tools you might recognize:

  • Dumbbells
  • Barbells
  • Power rack
  • Benches
  • Medicine balls
  • Treadmill
  • Stepmill
  • Stairmasters
  • Concept 2 rowing machine

When I was first putting my training studio together, I wasn’t even gonna do the cardio machines, but honestly, some people like doing this type of exercise, and a moderate intensity/moderate duration cardio workout isn’t necessarily a bad thing. There’s a few other things they’re useful for too, for example: using a treadmill to pace a run. Heck, even I like to jump on the Stepmill once in awhile and get lost in some music. Some people enjoy running on a treadmill. It’s hard to do something like that when it’s raining outside.

We also have many tools you might have never seen/used before:

  • Kettlebells
  • Battling ropes
  • Plyo-boxes
  • TRX
  • Gymnastics Rings
  • Swinging maces
  • Hurdles
  • Slideboard
  • Extreme Core Trainer
  • Sand-bags
  • Gray Cook’s FMS

The unconventional training we do has not been seen by a lot of people, and it’s completely different than what you would see if you walked  into a big box gym . If you’re completely happy with long, slow, boring workouts, and the results that you’re (not) getting from them, then take the blue pill and keep doing ’em. If you’re open minded, and ready for something that will change your perspective on what being “fit” really is,  then take the red pill and find out how deep the rabbit hole goes. You will discover a whole new world of fitness training. You might even think the same thing that one of my new clients said to me last week, “What the heck have I been doing this whole time?”

We’ll get more into training details later on, but for now, please enjoy these pictures. Here’s a look at my brand new private fitness/kettlebell training studio in Honolulu, Hawaii–from build out to last week.

Stay strong,

Chris

P.S. We’re kicking things off by GIVING AWAY FREE TRAINING!!! I will be hosting a FREE workshop on one of the most beneficial exercises you will ever do–The Turkish Get Up. Every single one of my personal training and small group training clients does this exercise. I would love for you to come in and learn this incredible movement with us. And don’t worry–I’m not doing this giveaway to try and sell you any products or video’s. I’m not even gonna give pitch you about personal training, group training, or doing a boot camp with me in the future. I’m just giving back to fitness because fitness has given me so much.

    Aloha Chris,
Congrats on making the move and getting you business up and running. I wish you success brother! I’ve been involved in the fitness industry for the past 15 years and now ready to open a personal training studio also. Trying to find the right location at a reasonable cost per sq/ft. Was looking in western Oahu area. Maybe we can chat sometime. Peace Brotha.

Thank you so much, Liz! It’s been quite an amazing journey so far. My apologies for the super late reply. I was having some SERIOUS issues with my website. Hope you’re doing good!
