Mele Kalikimaka from Chris Ranes Personal Training

There’s no snow, or ice over here in Hawaii, but I definitely know it’s the holiday season. This December has been busier than ever for me. I’ve had much of the normal holiday craziness as the rest of you have probably had. My Mom flew into town and we had dinner together on Thursday night. My best friend flew back here by surprise last week and slept on my couch for a few days. It was an unexpected, but pleasant surprise. :) I had other out of town guests come in during each of the 3 weeks prior to this!

Even my cat Chloe is feeling the holiday cheer!

I have had 4 new clients join my personal training program since Thanksgiving. I’m ecstatic to be able to help you all and I applaud you for taking the initiative. Welcome to the team guys/gals!

Even with all the craziness I’ve still managed to squeeze in 35-45 minute workouts at least 4 days per week and rehab for the right side of my upper body a little bit every day. I hope that you’ve also kept your fitness at the top of your priority list.

Last week, one of my personal training clients was able to perform a kettlebell snatch for 12 reps using my heaviest kettlebell (70 lbs) so I went out and picked up a new 80 lb kettlebell from Heavy Metal Barbell Company on South Street over the weekend. A 70 lb kettlebell snatch for 12 reps is some serious butt kicking!

If you’re interested in kettlebells and looking for more than 70 lbs, I do believe that Heavy Metal is the only place in Hawaii you can get a kettlebell that heavy.
